Peter Ceredig-Evans: Ends of Land

6 - 27 June 2026
Peter Ceredig-Evans is a British painter now living on the Gold Coast of Australia. He studied Fine Art at Bath Spa University and spent his formative years in Cornwall. Some years ago following a move to Australia, his work inevitably developed into the exploration of his new environment, particularly the coast. The body of paintings in this exhibition hold an eloquent and sensitive conversation between the visual differences and similarities of his new home and his homeland of southwest England; of new experiences and of older memories. The work of Peter Ceredig-Evans is the beautiful result of his complex painting practice; an intense fascination of building layers of oils and washes to create a rich depth and subtle surface finishes.

"We have followed Peter's painting career over the past fourteen years and this collection demonstrates the best of his painting abilities, as he utilises both technique and his exploration of subject matter. The deep connections with the landscapes he knows so well that he tackles in these paintings carry a weight of emotional content and a sense of history that are striking and almost tangible."  David Quantrill-Simon
