11 October - 8 November
A multi-media exhibition exploring the subject of landscape through painting, ceramics, glass and silk.
Peter Ceredig-Evans, David Ralph Simpson, Sarah Purvey, Gillies Jones & Penny Seume.
A recent fine art graduate of Bath Spa University, Peter Ceredig-Evans' paintings are about place and a response of his own memory and experience.
Stephen Gillies and Kate Jones, a husband and wife team, have created a beautiful range of bowls and vases in glass. These bold one-off pieces are hand-blown and then etched on a diamond lathe with designs examining patterns in the landscape.
David Ralph Simpson
Born 1963 in Plymouth, David Ralph Simpson studied Fine Art at Newcastle University in 1985. David Ralph Simpson has held regular solo exhibitions in London and galleries across England since 1987. His work has also been included in numerous group exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
The exhibition features Sarah Purvey's ongoing 'Landscape' series. The use of different clays provides beautiful textures, tensions and sense of atmosphere. An emotional response to landscape.
Textile designer Penny Seume has created a very unique range of silk scarves using designs from her own paintings of the
local scenery of Bath.
